Mother's Day Weekend

We wanted to plan a getaway that was focused on Katie and the weekend that worked out best to do it was the weekend of Mother's Day. That trip was filled with a lot of first for Katie and and I can't think of a better way to spend that holiday. It was so fun seeing Katie trying new things and having so much fun.

We stayed at The Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. That place is awesome! At first Katie didn't like the waterpark because of how loud it was. It's an indoor park so the sounds echo around and she isn't a big fan of anything loud. The first day we went there it took her almost 30 minutes to stop holding her hands over her ears. She was also very hesitate about trying all the different slides but eventually did. Over the next couple of days all she wanted to do was swim at the park. We were so happy that she ended up loving it!

All the fun places we ate at: Red Robin, Cracker Barrel, Braum's, The Cheesecake Factory and In-and-Out

Pictures from around the lodge:

We asked Katie which bed she wanted to sleep in and she pointed to one and said, "Katie's bed". Then she pointed to the other bed and said, "Mommy's bed". Watch the video to find out where she said Daddy should sleep. (The video was taken about 5 minutes after the original conversation happen so she isn't saying it as loud but it is still really funny.) Ken and I could not stop laughing!

We took Katie to her first baseball game to see the Ranger's play. We were about 15 minutes into the first inning when the storm hit. It POURED down! Everyone ran for cover and stayed there for about an hour and a half. Katie was a trooper for the whole thing. We meet a couple while hiding out from the rain who where really sweet. They had an umbrella and they were doing their best to keep and wind off of Katie. Since we had two extra tickets (courtesy of Ken's job) we invited them to sit with us. They are big time Rangers fans and were thrilled to be sitting so close to the field. We enjoyed spending the rest of the game with them.

By the time the game got started again it had been about two hours. (after 9 pm) We weren't sure how Katie would do for the rest of the game but she did great! She had so much fun. The rest of the game was electric. Home run after home run was hit. Katie eventually feel asleep in my lap but woke but up for the fireworks after the game. It was such a late night. I think we got back to the lodge around 12:30 am. It was such a fun night!

Cleaning up after the storm. It's amazing how fast they got all the water off the field.

Our new friends, Kristina and Jordan
It was too loud for Katie so we put some napkins in her ears. She was fine after that.
Passed out! That might just be my favorite part of the night!

Katie went to the movies for the first time. She did pretty well. We saw the Chimpanzee movie.

Hanging out around town.

As much fun as we were having Katie needed a lot of sleep. Here are several shots of her passed out!

She didn't move from this position the whole time she was napping.

And two pictures I just had to add:

On our way home we stopped to ride a little train in Fort Worth. The train was little but the ride was nice and long. We all had great time. It was a great way to end a super fun weekend!
